hello everyone, I'm a newbie to the site, so I'm hoping that I'm posting in the right place and not breaking any forum rules. I did however do a search before I asked any questions. My 93 240sx (ka24de) 's has failed HC emissions. the plugs are oil soaked is this a sign of anything more than valve cover gasket, and would this fail me?, i heared 240's are sensitive to any other plugs than NGK(bosch platinum in now) any insight to any of this would be much appriciated! thanks, adhd

could be a few things...

valve cover gasket, piston rings, you could also do a compression test

i had bosch platinum's in mine, they won't harm it (unless they are lemon plugs) but people have their own opinions just like oil... but i switched to the more expensive set of NGK's and hardly noticed a diff

i assume you are talking about the tops of the plugs becuase if it were the underside, which would be the result of bad rings, this would burn off anyway so they wouldn't be dripping or anything. Probably valve cover gasket. Although I doubt that would mess with your emissions unless they are really really bad and so it is causing arcing of the spark or something.
