I get the distinctive smell of gas coming from my oil.

Car is a 93 240 with a red top

At first i thought it was because i had gone too long without an oil change along with running rich

I just got my oil changed and i can already smell it when i check my oil.

Is this just a result of running rich (venting to atmosphere and such), or is something seriously wrong? Ive noticed no other problems, and no signs of any head gasket issues (white smoke, over heating)

does the level on your dipstick gradually increase from when you first change your oil to when the smell becomes apperant? if so I would say you really need to address the rich running issue. before you blow your oil pan off.

also, hows your compression? might be a combo of the richness, and excessive blowby.

thats no good because the gas will dilute your oil and cause excessive wear.
