wsup everyone, i just got word back from nissan here in fremont cali that the reason of the oil leak on my s14 is theres a front seal on the engine that needs to be replaced.......

now they say 14 hours of labor + new seal = $1,437.00

is this true?!?! is it THAT HARD?!?!!? does someone know anyone that can do it cheaper, or maybe GUIDE me for much less (i would do it myself but i am still learning cars)

I do all my engine work myself, and I can tell you that the oil seal is probably less than $100 (depending where you got it). The labour is massive though. Anyone that has ever changed their own head gasket knows what I'm talking about.

Haha, thanks! A member here named "driftaholic" drew this cartoon of my car.I'm up in Canada, so I can't really help you. But honestly, try, try, try your hardest to get a friend or someone to help you do it. Get a case of beer, put the game on, and work on the car on a Sunday. You will literally save $1,300, and it might even be fun.Good luck!

And actually, if you talk to Daunttless (a moderator here), he can hook you up an SR20 motor for $2,200.

The JDM front and rear main seals for my redtop SR20 were like 30 bucks. The parts are dirt cheap, but yeah, installing it is a PITA. thank god my engine was on the ground when I changed it.
