RTV helps a lot, run a thin bead between the two parts. Just sucks when you need to get them apart.I dunno, to be honest I've found its very difficult to get a completely leak free oil return line. My stupid bungs are dripping at the welds. Dripping like one drop on the floor overnight, but just the fact that they aren't 100% sealed even after I migged the crap out of them pisses me off. My brother has a turbo car and he and his friends weld everything, then slather JB weld around it to ensure a tight seal. For your situation though, I think that some of the RTV you used on your oilpan would do you just fine. Also check that the mounting surfaces are flat, they can get bent or warped from overtightening and then they leak.

yeah me too. just make sure you don't overdo it on the RTV, just a very small bead around the outside will do you just fine..
