ok i have another question, it might have been asked before but i cant find an answer. the t28 oil return does not line up with the new gt2871r im putting on. what did you guys do to correct this? i have heard of drilling the holes larger and clock it a bit but i have really bad luck with leaks and would rather not. have any of you guys cut the metal line short and used a longer rubber hose? if so did you reflare the line? how did you reflare it? and do i need special rubber hose or would any work? thanks guys

i have seen where people have cut it, and not flared it, and ran a longer hose. however, i consider that ghetto. There is a post in the 240sx forum where someone cheaped out on the hose he used for his return line and destroyed his engine. take a lesson from him and buy this:

that is what i ran on my old 2871r setup.

what I did...

Clock your center section so that it matches your original turbo's orientation.

You can widen the attaching holes on the flange w/o any leaking issues. This is what I did.

Do NOT, once again, DO NOT, and yet again, DO NOT!!!! use just a regular heater hose or a hose you find at an auto store. The hose will kink and restrict the oil from draining properly.

You have to use the oil line that came with the stock turbo. The one that has the bend on it already so that you don't kink the hose.

i see. well the stock line on the old turbo was leaking from a small crack so i would need a new one any way. and for some reason i just cant get it out of my head that widening the holes is bad and i will spend $30 for peace of mind. thank you.

another random question when clocking a turbo every one says that removing the bolts is bad but they never say why. im just curious as to why your not susposed to. if you need to move the wastegate actuator bracket the bolts need to come off

which bolts are you referring to? The bolts that hole the housings together?

I dont see why removing those would be bad... I loosened mine to re-clock the turbo and tightened it back up. Its been running fine for 1.5 years now.

BTW, here is a link to something you might find useful.http://www.frsport.com/FR_Niss....html

another maybe dumb question. does it matter which way coolant flows through the turbo? the return is in the coolant neck, correct? is the return port towards the engine or the fender.
