Ok, so some of you know that i am rebuilding the CA motor i just got. It looked real good when i got it, i just figured i might as well do it right and tear it down and rebuild it so i know that everything is ok. So im now considering a new oil pump. Not that the old one is bad, its just more insurance that everything is new.

Does anyone have any opinions on the Toga high volume oil pumps? Its $265 for the high volume one, or $185 for an OEM equilivant from Topline. Any thoughts? Would the higher oil volume (and resulting pressure) be a good thing to have when winding out the 9k RPMs with 22 lbs of boost? Or is it completely unnecessary?

Dude,

That high volume oil pump isn't really necessary. A good stock pump is more than sufficient for what most are looking. I use them, cars I've built use them and most around here uses them. But if you wanna be special and test out the TOGA H/V unit, let us know how it works.

Boost pressure has little to do with oil pressure. With spinning 9K+ RPMs with a stock oil pump. We found the pressure would drop a good amount at 9500. After we modded the pump for more volume/flow, the problem was gone and the oil pressure was stable.

If you plan on making power that high, I would get a better pump than stock.
