How did you get a rod knock from "inconsistant oil changes"

if i were you since you got bearing material into the oiling system i would replace the oil pump because the pump housing is aluminum and when you introduce something harder than aluminum into tight tolerances you will quickly wear it out. you might get away with not having to replace the pump but then again you might have good pressure for a while then poof, motor is garbage again. i'm in the middle of a build due to a rod knock and i'm not gonna attempt to re-use the pump because i'm not about to chance wasting new performance pistons and rods cuz i wanted to save $200

I had light rod knock for months, had the crank polished and its good. Now a spun bearing is a different story.
