Just asking for a general consensious, but has anyone ever had the oil pump gears break on them before??? Im asking because ive done a little seaching and havent seen this happening before on the SR's. Mine cracked the cover and the center gear was in 8 peices. Ive had 3 SR's and never had this happen before. Nice thing though i shut it down before anything else was damaged.

Damn! That is crazy! I've been around sr's for over 10 years and usually the clearance gets too large ......that's it.

Thats about what i thought.i finished swapping another pump off one of my detonation motors onto it last night and everthing is kosher now, weird though. starting to think back this motor has always been noisy since i rebuilt it 4yrs. ago, was a brand new nissan pump, not a chinese knock off. i recently rebuilt the motor again and checked the clearances on the pump and shimed the releaf valve for alittle more pressure. its always had a whinning noise since day one, i just never thought too much into it. i got 30k the first rebuild then another 800miles before it broke. i can post picks if someone wants to see some oil pump carnage.
