recently i have changed my main and rod bearing clutch and timing chain and then put the motor back in. so once i got it in i added oil so i can fire it up. it was rumming good but not great. so in the process of the install water got into the engine. so once i had the car running i drained it over night to get the water out. and added oil in the morning.

so now after the oil change its making alot of noise in the front of the engine not sure if it the timing chain or what. well theres still a little water in the oil.

and today i was thinking of changing the oil again. so i pulled off the oil filter and it was empty.

my question is the oil pump not working because of the water or what....

im not sure if this applies to the 240 or not but i know on some vehicles you need to occasonally prime the oil pump after an oil change.

ive personally never had to on my 240 but then agian i have yet to change out the oil pump.

i just finished doing a valve job and timing chain swap on my girls 240. Started it up on the oil that was in it and had low oil pressure, ok. so i bought some lucas oil additive and 20w-50 oil to change the oil with. also pulled the oil pump to shim the spring to allow more pressure. After words i started the engine and had no oil pressure, swapped out the oil pump for another one i had, still no pressure.i took out the oil pump again, took out the dizzy shaft and tried spinning the pump with a drill. still no pressure. Thinking maybe i was going the wrong direction,i reversed the drill and coild hear gurgling in the oil pan. Changed directions again and wala, it started pumping oil. replaced the dizzy shaft and now all is good.Went back to the original pump also.

Man your issue was using 20/50 that is thick as hell. It would have taken alot to get it to prime.

your supposed to use 10/30. 20/50 is way too heavy.
