You should be able to pull the pump just by jacking up the car. Its on the lower passenger side of the engine. The pump also drives the distributor so you should set the engine to TDC before you start. hen you will have to time he oil pump wth the spindle and shaft. There are marks on each that need to line up.

The oil pump is driven directly behind the crankshaft pulley. You would need to do quite a few things, including drain coolant and oil. Remove all accessory belts, remove front timing cover, upper and lower. You will probably also have to lower the front cross member in order to remove the oil pan (for the oil pickup). This is not a 2 hour job, it will be an all day event. Good luck to you sir.

look up timing in tutorials in my signature

you have to remove timing cover which means removing oil pan and crankshaft pulley

the oil pump is part of the timing cover

Dont waste your time. If your oil light came on your engine needs to be rebuilt, replaced, or at least torn down and checked out. An oil pump is not going to fix the damage done by such low oil pressure that the idiot light comes on. Before that light came on, your engine was already severely damaged.

Dude, you dont have many options. Your first move, check your oil pressure with a manual gauge. Replace the stock O2 oil sending unit with a real gauge, and see whats up. If your oil light came on though(and your oil pressure sending unit isnt fried), it means you had less than 1-3 psi of oil pressure. Thats motor damage man. Beyond checking to make sure that the oil sending unit really is telling the truth, your screwed.

Your talking about spending money + time on something that is most likely trash. Calling me wack? Those sensors so rarely fail dude.. Especially when you have seen that it was working when you put the motor in a week and a half ago lol.

Again, get a freaken oil pressure gauge and check your oil pressure to make sure your sensor didnt simply fry itself. Its super easy to do, and probably will save you a lot of time and money.

Easy enough to figure out. While attempting to swap the oil pump, you need to pull the oil pan. So why not pop off the stud girdle and look at the bearings. Any scoring means rebuild. Nuff said.
