When you buy a timing chain gasket set it comes with an oring and a gasket for the oil pick up. When I replaced the front main seal last month I replaced the gasket bucause I didn't see where the o-ring goes. Now I am getting an oil light when I start the car as well as low oil pressure when I rev it past 2500 rpm. Just wondering if I should have put the o-ring on the pickup tube or is there just a gasket?

the O ring goes in the groove where the front cover disconnects from the pickup. I imagine your oil pump won't be able to pick up oil correctly without it being there.

When I took it apart last time I couldn't remove the oil pan because of stuborn motor mount. So there is an oring and a gasket that goes where the oil pump (timing chain cover) connects to the oil pickup.

I wasn't aware of any gasket. Mine didn't have a gasket when I took it apart. But it had a little oring that went in a groove where they connected together.

91 KA24DE. Same as your engine.

The front cover bolts to the pickup, right? There's a little O-Ring that went in between them on my engine.
