Ok so I am getting ready to take the sedan for an over haul at the Stealership. I have to do this before June when the warranty expires.

The Trans is grinding when going into 5th and 6th. (New Trans)

I have to buy a clutch so when they do it they can just install it for me and I will give the tech like 100 bux cash to do it.

I have to get the oil changed and It has only been 3k miles since i changed it last time with RP. I can only get a very low reading on the stick. I wish the dip stick was a little clearer on the G35's.

(Side note Advance auto had the M1 EP on sale for 30.00 bux with the M1 Filter... They ran out of 5w-30 and then included the RP for the same price... I bought 3 sets! )

I think that my motor has a oil consumption problem. What do i do to have them test this?

Do I take it into them and they change the oil with dino oil and then have them test it after 1k miles?

How does it work?

I think your syncro is going in the transmission.

The engine just ask them to do the oil consumption test. What they will do is they will ask you to take it to the dealer few times between the oil changes and they will check the level. If you lucky they will give you a new engine and they will extend the warranty on that.

I think Telco went thru all this. He'll chime in soon and tell you what to do and how it works.

Telco bro where are you?

Ya, you just need to take the car to the dealership. They will change the oil and then you have to come back every 1000 miles so they can check the oil level.

RP at advanced auto for $30 huh? I wish that deal was available here...

if you get a new motor make sure you break it in properly and dont hold it at redline for half an hour at the taco bell drive thru. Manual trans usually get replaced if there is worn out interior components. In this case your synchronizers and maybe your shaft alignments...take my poll!!!

I guess i need to make an appointment.

Yea they have replaced the trans... This will be the second one that is replaced. The synchronizers went bad last time too. The tech said that they didn't align something right at the Infiniti of tampa... Im at Lokey Infiniti now!

I know I would need to break it in. I would do that so that it will last longer... I think i have made up my mind that I am going to drive the car aonther 2 years or so. Until im done with law school lol

No need to use expensive oil if it is going to get changed every 3k miles.

My G only used 12mm during the consumption test instead of the 18mm required to qualify for a new engine. At 84k miles my G uses about a quart every three thousand miles at which time I change it. I just gave it its 26th oil change last week and 4 quarts came out.
