Since oil pressure is dependent on the rpm of the motor I can't imagine that the starter will spin the motor fast enough to see any significant oil pressure. Just do like everyone else, and make sure the oil light goes out and watch through the oil cap to see oil squirting down on to the cam. I cranked until I saw the oil squirting, then cranked a couple more times for good measure. The whole process took probably 5 min. I only had to crank 4 times (for 15-20 sec each with a 30 sec break in between) until I saw oil squirting.And if the gauge doesn't go up after you finally get it running, then you got a problem.
