Okay. the overheating problem i have is i think an air bubble... but i was driving down the highway tonight and i look down at my oil pressure gauge and boom i lost alot of pressure. i usually have 45ish at cold idle and i have around 60-80 when i first start driving. and when hot i have like 15-20 and about 45 driving. the eghay oil kit i have came with a restrictor built into the oil feed flange, and i am kind of worried about starving the turbo of oil because of the low hot oil pressures and blowing the rear oil seal with the cold pressures if i drill out the restrictor. when i pulled my pan today i didnt replace the oil pickup tube gasket , could this cause such low numbers? or are those normal numbers? the car is a 96 with 210000 on it and im almost positive that it is the original oil pump. Thanks!!

20 psi at idle is normal. The FSM states >11 psi at idle, and between 60-70 psi at 3,000 rpm.

Well you should run a restrictor designed for your application. You should be more concerned with your oil pressure, not whether or not your turbo is seeing the correct pressure.

Switch out the Ebay unit with a name brand gauge and see what your readings are. The sudden drop in pressure you saw makes me think it's the gauge, so check that first. If it's still low after checking it with another gauge then it's time to rebuild your oil pump.

My general is never use eBay brands for anything other then solid parts such as exhaust systems, fmic kits etc. I won't use a BOV or gauges etc from China. They are just to unreliable and it's far to risky IMHO when a quality unit is usually not that much more $$$.

if it is a electric one check your connections and make sure you have a good ground. that happend to me and i had a connection that vibrated lose. tightend it up and it went back where it should be.
