oil pressure

i was wondering if lower your oil pressure is.. if the car will act a little different.. Cause my gauge on the stock dash acts funny sometime.. sometime is will says its at 30 to 60 psi of pressure 60 in the morning when cold and around 30 when idling during day. but something during the day it looks like its idling at around 2 next to the bar. I stopped driving it cause i dont know if this is for sure a problem or just the gauge. Is there a way to check both the gauge and your oil pressure. thanks jonathan

this is pretty typical, when the engine is cold so is the oil and when the oil is cold it is thick, as it heats up it thins out and pressure falls off, the fsm I believe has instructions on checking the sender
