Anyone know how many hours should be billed to replace on 1990 Q? I think the dealer charged me about 3 hours for it.

I've never done it, but it's right there between the exhaust manifolds on the driver's side. Manual doesn't show where the harness terminates, but I can't imagine it would require any major surgery to get it out. Switch has to be installed with sealant...I'm guessing plain ol' RTV. 3 hours sounds like 2 hours too many, but again, I've never done it.

I think book time is 1 hour or less. Looking back at the service records for "Q2" her former owner paid $50 at Peninsula Infiniti in San Francisco in 7/2000, so I'm thinking that's less than an hour's labor charge in CA dollars. I think it took me about two hours, but that was struggling with trying to use a deep well socket that didn't fit (old one was a different size than the new one if I remember correctly)...

I paid $50 to replace mine (92Q) while the tech was resealing the valve covers - I do not think there was any overlap. I went in for a valve cover reseal and the tech found the pressure switch to be leaking - additional part + labor cost to me was $50

So it can not be 3 hours of labor....
