I need to know if I can unhook the stock oil pressure sensor and if it will mess with the ECU? From what I have read all that it does is trip the dash light. I want to hook up my Defi sensor because it is more accurate. Sorry for the noobish question but I don't want any problems to come up.Rich-

It does not effect the ECU's operation. You may want to find out if it sets off an audible buzzer for the oil pressure though, that may get annoying.

Well isn't it amazing what reading all the search results will do for you? I found what I needed. For anyone who doesn't want to read, yes you can toss the stock sensor out, it IS just for the light on the dash. I wouldn't do it if you don't know how accurate your gauge is.

Why not just put in a T adapter and run both?

yea, just T it off, then you can keep the stock dash light working and have your gauge. That's what I did.
