Well I just put my insurance back on my 240 last week and drove it around yesterday. I noticed though that the oil pressure is not where its supposed to be. I just put fresh Mobil 1 Synthetic in yesterday. But once it was warmed up it was sitting around 10ish at idle. But what scared me was when I reved it up to about 5k-5.5k the pressure seemed to stop at like 35psi or so. I couldn't tell for sure but still I figured it should be up at 45-50psi correct?

Anyway a new OEM oil pump was installed about a year ago, gauge is a electric Autometer Cobalt gauge (Going to find a mechanical one today I hope). The motor was out a year ago and was checked for blocks in the oil paths but I had no problem last year when I stopped driving the car.

Now there is a dent in the oil pan but that has been there and haven't had trouble. But thats the only thing I can think of that might cause this sudden oiling problem. If anyone has any ideas on what else to check let me know. Thanks.

Edit: Sorry motor is a S1 RB25

Sounds pretty low to me. What is the oil weight you used?

Oh ya haha, guess that might help. Mobil 1 synthetic 10w30.

I did go out and let it run at idle yesterday for like 10mins (to get it warmed up) and checked for leaks and there was none that I can see. As well as I didn't see any oil burning.

Well after spending the last 4-5 weeks with the oil pan off I finally put a new gasket between the oil pickup and the block (pain in the a** with the motor in the car for those who havent tried this haha). And no change in the oil pressure. I just a got a new OEM pump last year but still only has maaaaybe 3k miles on it. And at that time too the motor was out and cleaned so I am pretty sure there are no blockages in there. When the motor is cold the pressure will go into the 70s at like 4k rpms or there abouts. Could it still be the pump? What else could it be? I am at a loss on this one. I just dont want to throw a heavier weight oil in there but I might just to see if it changes anything.

This sounds recently familiar:

I think there was even a second recent thread with low oil pressure being the main topic, but the problem was the gauge sending unit. I'd definitely check the Autometer gauge with a second gauge to at least rule it out.
