Hi Folks,

I'm new to the forum, but I need some advice from the experts.

I have a 1966 Datsun Roadster which I have recently swapped in a KA24DE engine into. The engine came from a 1996 240sx with approximately 56,000 miles. Using the stock ECU.

Note-> Issue resolved was using wrong weight oil

Now that's just plain sexy.

Now onto your problem, the oil pump is at the front cover, chances are you've either 1. got a leak behind the front cover or 2. got an oil pump that's gonna kick the bucket. One thing to check before you pull stuff apart, is take a gander down the head to the front oil jet and see if that has come loose or has been dislodged.

Nice set up Im about to drop my KA in my 66 Roadster too.Did you have to do any cutting to fit the intake manifold on? What did you do about the oil filter location? Put up some more pictures, that looks ****en nice!

On swapping the KA, All the credit for the amazing work goes to DGR Fabrication in San Jose, CA. No cutting was necessary to fit in the KA24DE. The oil filter is still in it stock location, but it is a tight fit.

Nice your roadster is clean, and thanks for the photos. But you might be looking at a oil pump getting ready to take a ****. But befor that if you want you could try a bottle of Lucius Motor oil. Its thick as **** but it raised my oil pressure a bit.Only one bottle though.

Dan, those are AMAZING.

We're about to launch ClassicDatsuns.org for all our "oldies" owners... We'd love to have your insight.

I can't wait to start on my Roadsters... Got a '64 Bluebird on the way, and maybe a 240Z as well.

BTW, the pump sounds like the culprit to me too, but I'm gonna have a couple more experts pop in and give their thoughts as well.

another suggestion, check the oil pickup to see if it's bolted up firmly to the oil pump tightly and the gasket isn't blown.
