oil pressure light

I was driving my 91 240 last night and the oil pressure light began fading on and off......any ideas?

Check your OIL.

If oil level checks good on your dipstick, then the oil pump is probably going bad. You may not be getting good oil pressure in your engine.

Another slight possibility is the oil pressure sender could be going bad or the wire connected to it is touching another wire somewhere or isnt hooked up.

All it takes for that dummy light to turn on is for that wire to be grounded. Check oil pressure with a real gauge. I would highly recommend not driving the car until you know for sure what the problem is.

Its the sensor right next to your oil filter

so a friend and I looked at this car this past weekend and this is what we found. The oil level was good and clean. I was checking the other fluid levels and noticed that the power steering fluid was bone dry. I topped that off and the light hasn't come back on since. Is it possible that the light is connected to that as well?
