ok here we go yet again i need to pick the brain of the know it all's and im not being sarcastic! i really need help or im gonna set this SR on fire and roll it down a hill! I have a freshly rebuilt red top sr ive replaced all seals and o rings all oem! I have a new greddy widemouth oil pan with an s14 pick up tube and new gasket. Still no oil pressure at start up... 10-25 seconds goes by with chatter from the motor and as soon as the gauge starts reading the motor quiets up!!! I dont want this to be your answer but someone mentioned the relief valve in the oil pump, Which has not been replaced! The oil pump is my next guess? Does anyone have any ideas?! Im pullin my hair out! Also if someone could forward the easiest way to yank the oil pump with the motor in the car still? thank you if you can help!

you should def. replace the oil pump. you should get the s15 spec r oil pump.

oil pump should get replaced on a rebuild. i heard alot of horror stories on not replacing or running the old pump!

to pull the front oil pump cover off you need to drop the sub-pan and also fanangle it from the head. I guess theoretically it could be done but you gotta measure the pain in the butt to how easy SR's go in and out of engine bays.
