there are sandwich adapters you can buy that fit between your oil filter and the block. Plug in temp and pressure sensors there. I think there's a blitz one up on ebay now.

it's just a chunk of metal that fits on the spot where you used to fit your oil filters, and then you connect the oil filter on that, but it's got 1+ openings on the side to allow you to stick in different sensors.

there's the pic and what not but yeah you can fit sensors in there without having to tap in anywhere on your block.

well i dont see how you're gonna avoid drilling if you've gotta tap that oil sensor in someplace. I'm highly doubt you're going to be able to get away from using the sandwich if you're going to avoid the drill. I think greddy makes it for the ka but don't quote me on that. I'll get back to you on what I find when I get back to San Francisco (away from school ugh) probably by thursday evening and tell ya what I find.

thanks i would appreciate it, i will get the sandwhich then, but i am not yet 100% sure on how this helps avoid drilling, but if it works, i will trust ya, ps. has anyone else done an install of gauges already?

yeah the sandwich thing just screws on the place where the filter fit, and the oil filter screws on that. There are 1 or more screw holes on the side where the sensors plug in.

found the greddy one, apparently it's universal.

kinda expensive though, for that much I'd rather get the oil filter relocator kit which has the same function as the sandwich and moves the filter.

\NO ONE UNDERSTANDS THI GUY. hE IS STATING THAT HE CAN GET THE READING FOR THE OIL gauge OFF OF HIS SENDER AND WANTED TO KNOW IF HE COULD NOT HAVE TO DRILL THROUGH HIS FIREWALL TO GET THE WIRE FROM THE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR TO HIS gauge. THE ANSWER IS NO YOU DONT HAVE TO DRILL JUST FIND THE HOLE WHERE ALL THE OTHER WIRES PASS THROUGH AND SLIDE IT THROUGH. I DONT KNOW IF THE OEM OIL PRESSURE SENSOR THAQT THE ECU USES WILL OPERATE THE gauge YOU HAVE. THE DRILLING THEY ARE REFERRING TO IS THE PRESSURE SENDER THAT THE gauge COMES WITH HAS TO BE PUT IN THE OIL LINE SOMEWHERE. FOR THIS THEY ARE SUGGESTING THE SANDWICH ADAPTER.
