I wondering if the oil pressure gauge is supposed to move when you put the key the on position without starting the car.

Mine seems to jump to around 90 before the engine even starts and pretty much stays there the entire time while driving.

Thank you

No, shouldn't move until there's pressure flowing. Should be 57-65 at 3K RPM when warm, and more than 11 psi at idle.

If your oil pressure sender unit (attaches to oil filter tree) is original then it is shot. They usually only last ~10 years. The good news is that they aren't very expensive and they're easier to change when you have an NA.

just did mine on my TT a few months ago. even with a turbo its easy you need a slim 17 MM wrench if i remember correctly. i needed a torch to crack the 23 year old threads loose.
un plug, unscrew old, screw in new, click in connector. done. takes 5 minutes if you have a hoist.

Thanks guys. I was just wondering because most threads say it shows 0 when it fails. Gonna try replacing it and see if that helps.

Yep. A new sensor did the trick. Now it's zero with the key on, 60 after the engine actually starts.

Did an oil change on my moms Pathfinder. It's behaving like my old one. Looks like it needs a new sensor too.

If its an older Pathfinder then it's basically the same thing. I'm sure newer ones are better but older (early 90's) ones only last about 10 years or so before they go wacky.
