Im about to install this oil pressure gauge that I got but I wanted to make sure there werent going to be any complications. For example; If the car is off then there shouldnt be any pressure to the original OPS so the oil will just spill out as opposed to spray everywhere and ruin my day; correct? Anything anyone thinks I should know please let me know. Thanks.

When the engine is off, there will not be any oil pressure present. The oil pump only builds pressure when the engine is running, since it is connected to the front of the crankshaft.

When you do remove the oil pressure switch to install the "T" for the oil pressure gauge, some oil will usually leak out. The best time to do this is during an oil change. That way you can drain all the oil out, then unscrew the oil pressure switch and minimize oil loss.

Good Luck.
