So, I'm going to be installing an Autometer Phantom electric oil pressure gauge. I'd also like to keep the OE "dummy light" just for the hell of it.

Now, the sender for the Autometer gauge is absolutely gigantic so there's no way I'm going to hang that weight off of a brass T fitting.

Does this sound like a decent plan?

Get a Nissport adapter (which I believe has 3 NPT port), hook up the OE sender using a BSPT to NPT adapter to one port, and then run a stainless line from the other NPT port to the sender.

I would need:

Nissport adapterapprox. 3' braided steel hose (Aeroquip, Earls, etc.)1/8 NPT Male to 1/8 BSPT female adapterstraight AN -4 to 1/8 NPT adapter-4 AN male to 1/8 BSPT female adaptertwo -4 AN straight swivel

Does that make sense or is my plumbing a complete mess? Errrr...I mean my car's plumbing.

Thanks!

what's the thread size on the electric sender for the gauge? if it is 1/8" NPT, you could also use the tuner toys adapter. its only twenty bux and it keeps the factory sender dummy light thing. The tuner toys adapter has two 1/8" NPT ports and one BSPT port. They also offer another fitting with just one 1/8" NPT port and one BSPT port. more info at http://www.tunertoys.com

The tuner toys adapter is what im running currently..........

The sender is 1/8 NPT, but I'm still wary of letting that massive thing hang off any adapter, brass or stainless steel. Optimally, I wanted to run a short length of stainless steel hose and then secure the sender to something else so a fitting isn't supporting the weight and the stainless line will accomodate any engine movement.

i see what u mean...........my friend has been running his electric oil pressure sender thing right off the fitting so i guess ur way would optimally prevent any fitting from failing due to excess vibration. if u do run it the way u want to, post pics as i am curious as to where it would be secured. good train of thought tho

It should be interesting. We'll see if I can solve the Mysteries of AN Fittings.
