It doesn't work with gauges, cause it's only a pressue switch that gives out a signal when the oil pressure gets below a certain point.

You could always try to pick up one of these for the install http://www.nissport.com/catalo...tType If the electronic sensor is compatible with this unit.

can you explain that proceedure a bit moredid you tap a fitting on the factory block or are you refering to a sandwhich plate for oil cooler?

Or you could just buy an 1/8" NPT to 1/8" BSPT adapter for about $5.Take out the factory oil pressure sensor, screw in the adapter, then screw your new pressure sensor into the adapter.

I had no idea that 1/8NPT to 1/8BSPT adapters were that easy to find!!! I've never seen any BSPT stuff at any hardware store IVe been to. What is BSPT anyway????? Is BSPT like the rest of the world's version of the American NPT? What does it stand for?Rob, yes I just pulled the factory sandwich plate off by unscrewing the four metric allen head bolts that hold it on. I then disassembled this plate completely (removed o-ring seals and pressure regulator spring and check ball) and just used a 1/8NPT tap to enlarge the 1/8BSPT so it would fit my autometer gauge sender's threads. The 1/8BSPT is actaully about .020" smaller in diameter than 1/8NPT, but they share the same thread pitch, so you can enlarge the hole without screwing up all the threads. I then reassembled the sandwich plate's internals and screwed a 90 degree elbow into the newly enlarged hole (this is neceessary because the electrical autometer sender hits the oil fliter unless you use the 90 degree elbow) and screwed my gauge sender into that. Thats it! Oh yeah, you should remove the starter and oil filter for all of this, it makes it sooooo much easier to do.

Can't remember what BSPT stands for at the moment....

Nope, I definitely did not remove my intake manifold, just the starter and oil filter

I have the engine on a dyno right now, so I had easy access. But you should still be able to accomplish what I did my removing the starter and oil filter, and working from underneath the car.
