What do you guys recommend for a mechanical oil pressure gauge I've been reading up on the dangers of running a mechanical but I'm not going to run an electric so whats really the best line to use right now I'm using just the one that came with the gauge it's away from anything that can heat it up too much or cut it. I am concerned of that chance the line just looses a seal though and starts spraying hot oil inside the cockpit of the car or engine bay for that matter.

This is why I'd go electric but if you must I'd look for one that uses a copper line. Those plastic lines don't do well with excess ehat and we wouldn't want you to have oil spraying inside the car or the engine bay. It's also easier to snake a wire through the firewalla nd dash than a tube that if kinked will effect the gauge or worse cause a leak or even a fire.

If you run a mechanical, leave it in the engine bay. DO NOT RUN A MECHANICAL OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IN YOUR CAR.

I'm fairly certain all of the mechanical gauges also say this.

A guy I worked with when I delivered pizza didn't pay attention to those instructions. It really sucked for him when his plastic line blew off the gauge and spurted 200 degree oil everywhere inside his car.

Yea not going to go into full detail but I do need to be able to read the oil pressure while in the car. I can put it on the cowl of the hood possibly. If you don't believe a steel braided or copper line is going to work.

Why the aversion to electric guages?
