Oil pressure dropping past 3k rpm

I have stumbled upon a weird oil pressure problem... Once the car is fully warmed up I have an idle oil pressure of about 16 psi. At 2k rpm I have about 45 psi, but at about 3k rpms my oil pressure drops and at about 5.5k i only have 39psi oil pressure and it stays there until 7k rpm... any ideas? Releif spring worn out maybe?
