I know this has been asked a ton of times on the SR forums, but does anyone know where to put the oil pressure and water temp gauge sensors on the CA? They are mechanical gauges, and I don't see where I can put them...

Blitz makes radiator piping for the SR with a built in bung to screw the water temp probe into...is there anything available for the CA? Can I replace the factory sensor with this one (I know the gauge in the instrument cluster won't work then, but will it mess with the ECU?)...what about drilling a hole and tapping it? TMS where do you put all your gauges(you've got like 16:D) or do you use all electronic stuff?

And where do I tee off the oil pressure sensor? HELP please!!!

Thanks in advance guys...

Sean

for oil pressure and temp several companies make sandwich adaptors that screw on where your oil filter goes then the fliter screws onto that. Also some temp guages can be purchased with the sensors mounted into an adaptor that threads into the pan in place of the oil drainplug. I just put a Defi water temp gauge on the wife's CA and I used the in hose adaptor you speak of. Before she puts her new motor together though I want to have the stock water temp hole in the manifold welded up, drilled and retapped for the Defi sensor. I want to know the temperature in the head not the hose but for the short term the in hose setup is fine.

need, you can goto autozone and they have rad hose that has adapter built in for somthing.. but they can be used for the water temp gauge.!! you just cut that part out of the hose and splice it into the rad hose on the CA... mad which would be better top or bottom hose??? also the coolant temp sensor is needed by the ECU isnt not??? and the oil pressure gague i would go with the electric and not fool with mechanical may be more exspensive but i hate the idea of having fluids in the cabin!!! and you can proabbly just take out the oil pressure switch and put the sender for the gauge in there!!!

just went to autozone...they had no idea what you were talking about...maybe a part number or something jon? or a really good description of what it is...I told them a piece of radiator hose with a built in water temp adapter, and they had never heard of it!

sean, no suprise there !! autozone workers a freaking morons !! like i said 30mins to finda dman exhaust gasket !! advanve had me one and out the door in a minute flat !!! ok just tell them you want to look at radiator hoses cause you have a custom project look for a hose that has a little tube comming off it ! its just a normal rad hose but for some reason itll have a smaller tube comming off of it !! youll know it when you see it !! they look odd just use that and splice it in !! it might not be water temp adapter line its just a rad hose with a smaller hose comming off of it somtimes toward one of the ends or right in the middle... ask them to let you look through the selection to pick one out yourself !
