Well I just removed the oilpan on my motor to see what it looked like under there and to put my greddy pan and found this

I'm assuming that round thing is the oilpickup, unfortunately it has a bit of a dent in it, now my oil pan wasn't really dented so I have no idea how that thing got a dent in it. Is that dent going to affect anything?

i dont think that would be a problem, but u never know what happens to these motors in japan, if it looks like it will still pick up fine, then i would say that u will be ok

I would go ahead and undent it. If it is too bad, the pickup should be the same for a Nissan Sentra SER 91-93. Also, hammer out your oilpan, even if it doesnt look like any dents are present. From what I heard, ANY dent (small or big) will affect the oil pressure. Good excuse to upgrade to the Greddy oil pan now!

Should look something like this (sorry for small pic)

the last thing u want to do is hammer on the oil pan, 1 crack or hole and u'll be wishing u bought one, get a oem pan and slap it on, my pan wasnt too bad, but i got the new pan anyway

The stock oil pan will take a beating. You can hammer it to remove the dents...it wont crack THAT easily. I believe the pan is made of steel? Not sure though...

I have a greddy pan that I am putting on. My concern was more with the dent in the pickup if it will still work ok.

You honestly need to put a new one on if it concerns you so much. I know it would concern me. They are not that much and easy as hell to install. Do it now while the pan is off.

nissan_s14 stated that a pickup from a Nissan Sentra SER 91-93 might be a stock replacement for the oil pickup. Anyone know for sure?

yes, but just remember not all 91-93 se-r parts are interchangable. just most of them. I will say one thing for many replacement parts over the last 3 and a half years se-r and 300 zx parts have come in very handy. Always check.

Looks like it would still work fine, but I'd probably replace it anyway.
