oil pan???????????????

My buddy droped somthing from the timining chain and i know he ****** up, I came home and now i have to take off the oil pan and i have to re time my timing, And the timining cover isnt coming off with the pan, And iv tried so many things to try and get it off and busted my nuckles a few hundred times and Ill do anything to get this stuff off, Any sujestions?? thanks guys

You don't have to take off the front cover to get the oil pan off. If you don't remove the cross-member, you won't be able to get the pan all the way off. You will be able to tip it down ever so slightly but not more than that.

Search for -> Oil pan, i just did a writeup on how to do it the easy way.

Oh and chances are what he droped isnt in the oil pan. Its probably in the front timming chain cover sitting on the top of the lower sproket. I know from experiance ^^. Look in your FSM for how to remove it its not that bad, just set TDC and mark where your timming chain is on the sproket/chain link mark.

Hey can i put on the oil pan gaskets with out taking off the cross member?? Im sure i can just slip it over the oil pan with out taking it off but i just want to know the easier way to put it on and im not really wanting to pull off the cross member bar.. Thanks guys

sorry about that my buddy got on her and posted that. Yup i finally got my oil pan gasket on and timining cover back on and every thing is timed just right like the search said, But right now ima go back out side and put the heads on and exaust manifold gaskets on and tomorrow she will finally be running.
