I have a 2002 Pathfinder that just sprung an oil leak. I crawled under the front end to find that the oil pan has rusted through and started seeping oil. Well at least I think it is the oil pan? It is the unit that has the oil plug and is maybe 8"x6" . It is sealed with a gasket. I am confused because I can't find a new oil pan when I search the web for parts. The only thing that comes up is the oil pan gasket set. Does anyone know - is this the oil pan and does anyone know where I can order a new one? If not, does anyone know what this part is called? Thanks for your help.

I replaced over the summer. Only place that sells the pan was dealer and there is no gasket kit for it. Its just a self seal you put.

Fleurys - That picture is immensely helpful. That is exactly what is leaking. Thank you so much for your help.

tgreen, what is your oil change interval? Are you on gravel roads? Oil pans do this leaking via rusting out in either direction, in side out and outside in. Just because the case holds oil that oil may be in that tank too long. The oil itself becomes acidic over time. Driving back roads and long use over back country can also play havoc with oil tanks. Check out you bottom side for rust and corrosion.

I changed my oil every 3k until I went to synthetic and now every 5k. I don't live on dirt roads. I live in Michigan with ridiculous amount of salt in the winter. It seems to have rusted from the outside from the looks of the bottom of the pan. Thanks for the heads up though on the aging oil problem. I didn't know that could be an issue.
