There is a cork composite gasket available from Felpro, but it will leak more quickly than a well laid bead of liquid gasket, for sure. Just make sure that you clean the oil pan flange and the pan rails on the motor REALLY well before you put stuff back together.

ditto on the silicone sealing perfectly, Ive done a couple of them now and they have lasted for at least a few years now with absolutely no leaks. the key is making sure both surfaces are completely clean and free of old gasket material, rust, or whatever other kinds of crap that can get in there.

I always use high temp RTV or the Black type for all my gaskets. Even used it on the oil pan gasket of a 740whp R33 GTR.

Take some brake cleaner and spray down both surfaces, then wipe it down with some alcohol. Apply a nice bead of sealent to the pan and install. I would use the sealent with or without the gasket by the way.

so you guys are saying that the rtv will last longer than the gasket, and how long is long. the rtv that was on there was silver and leaked bad. maybe they did not lay it well who knows.

its easy to take the pan off without removing the whole swaybar. use the one piece gasket and rtv it to the pan. no leaks.
