SR20's have oil pan gaskets? I figured they'd use liquid gasket like KA's ;)

Wow. I checked several different websites for you but I didn't come up with anything. Huh, I always thought that gasket would be easy to come by.

I would follow Nathan's suggestion and just use liquid gasket.

there are very few gaskets on nissan engines. headgasket, and valve cover are the only ones that come to mind aside from the standard metal exhaust gaskets

Oil pan does NOT use a gasket, get some Nissan sealer and put sealer in the grooves on the edges of the oil pan and around the bolt holes and you will be fine.

that's all you have to do. there's really nothing to it, just make sure it's a complete, uninterupted bead all the way around the pan lip. it's just like when putting any part back on that requires some form of gasket sealer.

are you tring to get off the factory pan?

if so just tap a paint scraper in between the pan and metal, and wiggle to loosen. then it will start to come off.

yea they are definently liquid gaskets because i rebuilt my ka, and there are actually only 4 gaskets on the longblock including the liquid gasket on the oil pan, but then there are throttle body gaskets, intake runner gaskets, exhaust and intake manifold gaskets oil pump/ timing cover gasket. not too many

It's imperative you clean all mating surfaces really well. If there's any grease or oil anywhere, the RTV won't take a good bond and the seam will leak much sooner. Use simple green or something for the bulk of it, then go over everything with brake cleaner. Use a white rag so you know how clean it is.
