The damn Greddy oil pan didnt come with a gasket.

I have to order a new one from Nissan... does anyone know the part number or which engine I can order the gasket for? sr20de, same gasket as the sr20det?

Or do I have to special order from Japan (hope I dont) ?

im only telling you stuff you know....you dont need an actual gasket...(which is why it didnt come with a gasket)....clean it off real good, get all the old residue off real good, and use that liquid sealant gasket stuff. tourqe it a bit. its more than ok.

ps, i have a greddy oil pan, and did not use an actual gasket....and i did check with a couple of other people before i gave you that information : ) so its not just me....I used a razor blade, and carefully cleaned the old gasket off, without digging the razor blade into the metal, and making any marks or anything, just carefully clean the part on the motor, the oil pan has a grove so put the sealant in there carefully, get it fully around, then put it on gently, and tourqe it up, it will ooze out the outside of the oil pan a little, let it, dont try to use the razor and clean it, just let it ooze : )

(my description isnt the best, lol, but im sure you get it)

Yup, same thing with me, I banged out my old oil pan, then I went to a Nissan dealership and bought a tube of the Nissan sealant. I used it on the pipe where the thermostat hides, the water pump and my oil pan. No gaskets needed, yay.

You dont have to buy the stuff at nissan. You can go to any parts store and ask for liquid gasket. It comes in dif colors due to heat index depending on what application you use it for etc. In the shop, we use it for many things... (dont ask lol)

lol i work at a car dealership and the technical term for that gasket is "tube of goo" and imo you should get the sealer from nissan it may cost a little more but the oem goo will def work where as some aftermarket liquid gasket tends to suck

Yeah, liquid gasket sucks in areas that involve coolant.

Also, something not yet mentioned, but is described in the FSM, is when your putting the liquid gasket in the groove of the oil pan, when you come to a bolt hole, the liquid gasket goes on the inside edge of the bolt hole, not around the outside.

Or you could put it on both sides like I did.

well certain things the sealer should go on the out side or on the inside, i think the front cover and block extender are like that..
