I had a oil pan full of gas fixed that. replaced all of the injectors. Car starts and doesn't idle properly, notice white smoke coming from the exhaust wasn't alot, actually the car did that the first time i started it up but went away. So no biggy right? NO it gets worse then i saw a trail off oil. the pan is leaking badly from the gasket around the pulley. any suggestions about that besides replacing the oil pan gasket O great 240sx gods?? Oh and whats the best way to do it i read so where to drop the sub frame or rise the motor for clearance.

Thank you!!!!

It could be a front main seal, so take a good look up there to make sure of where it is coming from before you go through the effort of doing the oil pan.

so do you think that the front main can cause the white smoke or is that just a product having had gas in the oil?

You probably should have gotten rid of that oil after you fixed whatever was cuasing fuel to go into the oil. I dont believe a leaky pan gasket or front main seal will cuase white smoke. Ive had both those problems and never had any white smoke. the white smoke coming from the exhuast right?

Theres information on how to remove the pan if you use the search. I just did mine folowing someones tutorial.

Only thing I didnt do from the tutorial. Was actually hoisting the engine up. becuase i dont have anythign to hoist from. Instead, I used a jack, once the motor mounts were unbolted, to lift the bellhouseing of the transmision up to make enough room to get the pan out.

Took me a good 5 hours becuase ive never done one before. Kept removing things i didnt have to and putting back on. But if you got 2 or more ppl that now how to drop a pan ittle be pretty short.

If it didn't overheat.....

Compression test, make sure the headgasket / rings are healty

Replace oil pan gasket, water pump gasket, front cover gasket, and front main seal.

When I do gaskets I use a razor scraper then wipe it down with laquer thinner or acitone. Then wipe down with some brake cleaner on a shop towel and let dry. If the surface is not so good a little 1500 grit paper or fine steel wool works great.

Been gone for a while thanks for the replies. But since the last update i found it to be the front mains that were leaking the white smoke was i guess some moisture the the motor from letting the car sit while trying to see if the seals would comeback some from draining the oil out of the car and letting it sit with the the drain plug off and filter off. but i have a new issue is there away to replace the front main with out pulling the motor?

absolutly, jsut remove your radiator fan, upper radiator hose, fan shroud, and all the belts. and youll have plenty of room.
