Don't know what year you have...these are searches for a '93 VH45:

http://www.infinitipartsusa.com/partloc ... atalogid=0

Kind of pricey in Atlanta:
http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/ ... atalogid=0

So after the two searches I did to find the above two links, I noticed that the base URI that both sites are using utilize the same query parameters. The one to manipulate to find the best price is the "getJointLocator&siteid=XXXXX"

Change the number, see what price someone else has for the pan, if they haven't let there registration for this parts locator lapse. I was able to quickly find that when I entered 215255 for the JointLocator/siteid number that the pan was listed as $355.83. Note that the first link I found has 55 for that number. Probably could write a quick script that would iteratively increment from 1 and make a request to each of who knows how many hundreds of thousands of companies that all use this site and filter on the pan price...eventually you would have the lowest price for an OEM VH45 pan.

All I was saying was that with a little code scripting, I (or anyone who understood the concept I was providing) could find the cheapest price for an OEM VH45DE pan. The concept could also be applied to find the lowest price for any part for any car that can be looked up on the trademotion.com OEM distribution portal.

And yes, flyingbrick, the '90-'96 pan/sump styles are the same.

I cracked the valve covers tonight and everything was nice and gold in color, no burnt oil smell. I was very happy! Saw the metal backed timing guides which is why I bought the engine (oil pan was a close 2nd.)

Side note, this engine doesn't use ignitors, are they part of the ecu or part of the coilpack?

found the answer to my coil pack question, looks like it's part of the coil pack and not the ecu if I'm looking at this correctly.

You're right Carl, when I looked at the 95 q45 fsm it still showed separate ignitors, so I went to 96 and the ecu pinout is different. But for the sake of determining that the ignitor is now part of the coil pack, it should work.

Just a quick reply to this thread, My fabricator will be making an oil pan for the VH45. It will be made thinner in the front, as well as shorter and wide like a moroso pan.

It will allow for the same as stock capacity wise, but will give much more clearance for lowered cars as well as crossmember/sway bay clearance.

If there is any interest, I can post pictures when my swap is nearing completion.

I think lots of people would be interested in seeing what you come up with as long as it s reasonably priced.

As I said, I will post up pictures and info when my fabricator is done. It will be reasonably cheap, and very well constructed.
