oil pan clearance/engine height

How far below the crossmember, if any, are most of you running the oil pan? Just wondering how low you can get one of these in the chassis without risking damage, assuming that the car isn't slammed to the earth.thanks,Jared

I'm about 5mm below the crossmember with mine. Jap VH45 in a RHD Z32.

That isn't too far. I've seen some of the domestic V8 guys run them pretty low. Just curious as to how low you can get one and not bang it off on every speed bump.

Yeah, it's not too bad.

But it's between the front wheels, so should always stay a decent height above the deck. My exhaust hangs lower...

I'm actually lowering the crossmember a bit to clear the main bonnet supports.
