yeah but now the little ring around the spark plugs is going to be unpainted underneath. the rign that will be under the oil cap. and now you have overspray over all your wires

Ehhh, I dont know, doesnt bother me. The way I see as long as it looks some what clean its ok with me. Not really a show car. and at the end my long term plan is the SR swap.

Even if its not a show car, the valvecover looks like you just don't care; esp. since you went through the trouble of taking it off to do the gasket. Would've been a fine time to prime it when it was off the car.

not a good idea to have primer on ur wires. plus its so much easier to paint the cover when its off.

well be sure to take the cover off when you paint it, or else it'll just be laughable. like painting brake calipers when they're on the rotors...

No there was no more oil, I sand it down. But some stains were unsandable.

Thats the best half-a55ed job i've ever seen.

Why stop at the valve cover? Just primer the whole engine bay.

I'd take the oil/dirt buildup over the "lets pait with a blindfold on" look.

I dont know guys..... I guess we have different views on things. I see most (well like 75-80%) people here with very nice and clean looking 240's. And I gotta say (sometimes I wonder, how do you guys manage that) I mean after 2 years of drifting, my car has so many scratches and dents. That If I wanted to maintain a nice body shape, i would seriously have to go straight to the body shop, everytime I drift. So, the way I see it, a little overspray sure beats the hell out of the cone dents on my fenders, or rocks flying at my bumper. After a while you just stop worrying about little scratches and worry about performace more. But hey thats just me, and I see your point too guys, and im not taking it offensively or anything. Its just im more worried about my suspension that im about to comepltly redo worth about 2k. So you know the valve cover isnt my #1 problem. But i was bored and had prime spray paint. I was like a kid with a new toy.
