hi just got my sr20det in, decided to do its first tune up.the original spark plugs had oil on them, not alot just enough to notice on the threads of the spark plug. so i changed it to new ones. drove around for a week , check the spark plugs again and there still was little oil residue on the spark plugs or on the treading of the spark plug.

is this normal and have nothing to worry about or did i get a bad motor?

thanks

leakdown and comp testing will show you the way. if the engine's been sitting for a while, expect some oil till the engine gets all the old junk stuff out.

Im not sure of the configuration of the valve cover on the sr20, but if it has a center valve cover gasket, it could be letting some oil pass by or something, Ive seen that happen on the KA24DE.
