I was regapping the spark plugs and cleaning them up and I pulled my spark plug out of cylinder #2 and it had oil all over it. Is it the head gasket or the piston ring? Or is it something else? VQ30DE 96

Have you changed your oil since you found this? A bad headgasket can lead to coolant in the oil. Alternately, blowby caused by bad or misaligned piston rings can lead to sludge.

I'll be changing the oil tomorrow because it's due... is changing the oil good or bad?

Good. Changing it is always good, but in this particular instance, you can look at the old oil after you've drained it to see if it's got any coolant or sludge in it as mentioned above.
