Ok so I have a 90 s13 hatch with (sohc) and I have an oil leak and my oil light is on I cleaned the bottom of the motor and let it sit for a couple of hours and no leak but I looked around under the car and my oil pressure switch was loose I tightened it as much as I could but there's no clearance to tighten it with any tools I wanna do a oil pressure test but idk how to do it I have the tools for it I just need my car running and I don't want to drive it until I find the leak so any help will be greatly appreciated

Have you checked the oil level? If that light is on its usually really low.

But being that the sender was loose it probably wasn't reading. You should be able to get a wrench on the sender to tighten it.

I was gonna ask about that too I have checked the oil level and it's over "high" will the oil light turn on if there is too much oil? But it's about half an inch over high on the dipstick when I first start the car the light is off then when the idle gets to normal it turns on again and when I rev the motor it cuts off for just a second then on again

Should not turn on when its high, only when low. Its supposed to come on at like 7psi or lower I believe.

If its still on and the sensor is tight, then its either bad sensor or your oil pickup isn't working to send oil out.

the light is still on but it starts and runs fine no knocking or anything the pressure is low because when i rev the motor the light turns off and i guess the pressure goes up also but no leak im gonna try to do a pressure test in a little while

ok i checked the oil pressure with a manual gauge and the pressure was fine so i went and bought a new oil pressure switch and the light is off now hopefully that was the problem
