Oil light is on...=/

well i have an oild cooler and relocated the oil filter...then my oil light turned on but then my car runs ok...

how do i get it to turn off?

or is there something wrong?

i need it to be fixed right before i go to LA this coming weekend...

pls help me...

umm did you add any oil to compensate for the cooler and lines? check your oil levels and add any if you need to.

well i only used 4 quarts of oil...so do i jus add some more?how would i know if i already placed too much...cus the oil stick already states that the oil level is high...should i still add more?

what you should have done, is crank the engine without fuel pump or ignition so to prime it, after priming, add oil as needed.

Well, like The One said, if you're checking it on the cold engine, the oil may have made it's way back in to the pan depending on how long it's been sitting. Not sure how you plumbed your filter or cooler, but if you added extra volume to the oiling system you may need to add more.

The next thing I'd do is check the oil pressure sender. Bust out your multimeter and FSM and see if the sensor is working.

You may want to consider getting an actual oil pressure gauge and ditching the warning light. Autometer gauges are cheap and good quality.
