No I didnt fall off the wagon again, but I noticed after my last oil change the next morning I went out and checked it with the truck parked in the same spot and engine cold, The oil was 1/2 quart too high. This is the second time I noticed this after the truck sits for 3 or 4 days. I also noticed that the oil reeked of gas. I pulled 2 of my ngk plugs, and there was heavy "Gummy" junk on the electrodes.

About 2 weeks ago I got a p0450 code "Large Evap Leak", then this morning the truck didn't want to start. Got off work and tried it again, and after cranking for 15 seconds and flooring the peddle, I got it to start. I smelled a strong odor of gas coming from the tail pipe.

Could a bad in injector of Fuel Pressure Regulator be causing this? Some help is welcomed on this one. I'm totally stumped.

You can pull your fuel rail/injectors out of the intake manifold, then turn the ignition to "on" (without starting), and see if the injectors are holding pressure. That would at least get one variable assessed.

Thanks for the input Seang... It turned out to be 2 bad injectors not closing closing fully.

While waiting for the verdict, the sales manager at the dealer commented on how pristine my HB was.. Making a long story short, he made me an offer on my HB that I couldn't walk away from. I was spared the repair bill, and scored a pristine, ultra low mile 97 Mercury Grand Marque that some old lady just traded in. :gapteeth:

Im now HB less and waiting to find a good deal on a 93-97 HB 4x4 for this winter

Always nice to get an offer you can't refuse! I got the same thing on my '97 HB - I think there's a certain following of the old body style that just can't get used to the more glitzy looking second generation Frontier or the larger latest Frontier.
