I have changed all Possible seals that I can yet when i park at shopping centers or anywhere that is paved I notice that An oil spot about the size of a regular CD and I cannot find where it is coming from.

I did notice on the First oil change I ever did to it that there was a copper crush ring on the oil drain plug but the new filter didn't come with one so I thought nothing of it. Am I suppose to have one on the oil drain plug?

It should be there. Did you double-gasket the oil filter?

It is neccessary to have the drain plug ring seal in place for your particular engine. The copper gets thinner every time you torque down the drain plug. It's normal for it to wear through over time.

I have run castrol in every car I have owned except my old twinturboZ ran synthetic in it. I have never had an oil problem. Change every 3k and oil should never be an issue. Ran synthetic in turbo cause of the heat build up and nothing protects in heat like synthetic.

No biggie, I dought that the little oil leak is making your valves get louder. The naps-z engines have adjustable rocker arms that you can set into spec again, yay! It says to set them with a hot engine at like .14, but I found it hard to keep the engine hot while completing the entire operation, so... I set them while the engine was cold, (about 72 degrees outside that day), at .09, and it turned out good that way. Oh yeah, the little copper rings for the drain plug are available at almost any auto parts store in packs of 3, about $3.50

P.S. If you haven't set valve clearence before, you will see that you should check each valve a few times because torquing the locknut can tweak it back out of spec. The directions are in the service manual.

Not to say bad things about Nissan or anything but . What is the point of having X-tiped Valve cover screws? They are hard to tighten down and over half of mine have little if any grip left in them.

Can i put bolts in place of the screws?

If I remember right, you can replace the stock phillips head valve cover bolts with *8mm metric bolts*. I'm pretty sure thats what I did, but that was in 2004 when I still had my z24i motor, the ka24e I have now came stock with hex head screws.
