car 1995 240sx, 111,241 miles, manual

i went to my mcehanic to get my fron t engine oil seal changed, then shortly afterwards had to get my rear engine oil seal changed, and now my timing chain cover gasket changed? is he ripping me off? i cant afford this last job its a lot. could someone charge me for a little less? if u need, i got connections in furniture, like beds and stuff i could hook you up with, thanks!!

and how do i advance my timing? THANKS!!

Timming chain cover gasket, you can do yourself, It's super simple. How much is he charging you, if you do it yourself, it'll cost you around 12 dollars and about 45 min. doing it.

your front cover's gasket is just RTV. You can get the permatex red for 7 bucks. It'll be more than 45 minutes because you'll also need to drop the oil pan to pull the front cover to make sure you get a good seal. At that point, you might want to consider just doing a full timing chain job, you're already half way there.

i am being quoted A LOT OF dollars, im being told this is a huge job that will take him 3 days. so maybe one of you guys live around the east bay could help me out a for a little less. thanks
