Oil leak (with pic)

ok so i have a very small oil leak coming from below this bolt.... do i just need a new gasket or what?

id check the back of the valve cover and see if its leaking back there and down. i had the same leak.

if not i been hearing a lot of rear main seal

Rear main seal would be my guess but I guess it could be coming from up top and leaking down.

Yeah could be. I pulled my trans to replace rear main seal and throwout bearing and when I got it out, I saw that the valve cover gasket was leaking from the cam seal portion. And not the rear main. It was leaking all down the backside of the block dodging flywheel and clutch...I didn't use enough silycon. Needless to say I wasn't thrilled.

easiest way to find an oil leak is remember all else fails "gravity works" start at the top and work your way down n youll find your oil leak never start at the bottom or cause the oil runs down i'd check valve cover gasket first...

I understand that concept now.....not when I pulled my trans.....haha, that was a long time ago.
