The 94 has developed an oil leak, my tech thinks it may be the pan gasket but is not 100% sure. He replaced the oil sensor as a first try but its still leaking. The crank case rear looks clean as do the valve cover gaskets. He is suggesting we put a die in the oil to track it down. Any ideas from the experts?

It makes a two+ inch wide driveway spot every 24 to 48 hours.

The dye sounds like a good option. If you wanted to be hands on,you could always get a few cans of engine degreaser and clean the motor real well yourself for a few bucks and look for the re-appearing fresh oil and determine the source yourself.

Passenger side/center--rear area of pan with the car parked on incline front higher than rear.

So any oil on the front of the pan that would indicate a failed front bearing seal?

Check oil sending unit. There have been several comments about it failing and leaking lots of oil just at the spot you are talking about. On my 94Q which at the time had about 110K on it, was blowing out more than a quart per week. "TexasOil mentioned that this situation could have cost him an engine. I found it a little hard to spot the leak until I had a well lit view of this unit, it is a bit difficult to see. If you need to change it out look at the notes on the forum, I had to create my own special stub wrench to do the job(described in earlier post).

And isn't the oil sending unit sensor a weird British plumbing standard fine thread?

is this (oil sending sensor) not the same part as the oil sensor, or are these two different parts. My tech replaced the oil sensor last month.

All I see is oil pressure switch on LC-4.
