Im in the middle of some work on her, and Ive had an oil leak for some time, but it doesnt spot. Rather it seems to leak somewhere above the alternator, and the alternator burns it off, what join would likely be the cause of a leak somewhere above the alternator?

Valve cover gaskets, cam seals. You need to correct that or else you'll be frying alternators left and right.

Well, since im rebuilding my lifters, I will already be replacing both the valve cover gaskets and the cam oil seals. Would that be the only joins of concern you think? Studying the drawings in the manual leads me to believe so, but I just wanted some seasoned opinions as to any other seals I may want to go ahead and replace while I have her apart.

are you sure its oil? The high pressure power steering line is notorious for leaking over the alternator

As the other guys said, I would check into the HP power steer hose. Look in your power steering resivoir to see if the fluid level is low, you should be using ATF which is a red color. Look and see if the leaking fluid has a red color, it may be darker if its mixing with dirt too.

Check this out for more info+pics on HP hose.
