When I came home from work today i noticed where i was parked this morning there were drops of oil overwhere. I jacked up the car put a piece of cardboard under it, ran it, pulled the cardboard out and there were drops of oil, then i got under the car with it running and noticed that the oil was leaking from the front of the oil pan OR the front/rear (i forget) seal, the one inback of the crank pully. Is there a way to tell if its leaking from the pain or the seal without ripping everything apart.

Its probably coming from the front main. That's a whole lot easier to replace than the oil pan gasket. Try that first.

Clean all the sludged out oil off of your car and run it around your neighborhood. When you get home, look underneath it and you can tell where the fresh oil is leaking from.

Either that, or they have a dye that you can put in your oil that with a special flashlight you can tell where its coming from.

Was the front main seal. A friend and I changed it out today, no more leaks.

Front main going to have to say no. Could be the valve cover gasket.

hey you posted a while ago about an oil leak...i think i have to same problem and i want to verify with u what was wrong...

on mine the oil is leaking down the oil pan, coming from behind the crank pulley....it only leaks when the car is running, and when i give it gas it leaks a lot more.... again it comes down from near the crank pulley and drips down the oil pan...

how easy was it to replace this seal??

is this the same problem u had?
